Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south toward Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive across the open plains. Look out for large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, giraffes and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2
Full Day Amboseli National Park
Spend the full day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. Visit the marsh areas where elephants, buffaloes and many bird species gather, and search for predators including lions and cheetahs. When the weather is clear, enjoy outstanding views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3
Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel through Nairobi toward Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive around the lake, woodland and grassland areas. Search for white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards and abundant birdlife. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4
Lake Nakuru to Lake Bogoria
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru before breakfast. Depart for Lake Bogoria National Reserve and explore its dramatic alkaline shoreline, hot springs and geysers. Depending on seasonal conditions, large flocks of flamingos may be seen feeding along the lake. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5
Lake Bogoria to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive south through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Arrive for lunch and enjoy an optional boat ride to see hippos and birdlife or visit Crescent Island for a guided nature walk among giraffes, zebras and antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6
Lake Naivasha to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast overlooking Lake Naivasha. Depending on your schedule, relax at the lodge or enjoy a short optional activity before departing for Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your six-day Amboseli and Rift Valley lakes safari.
